Extra Evening Class on Tuesdays from this Week

Due to the increased demand for classes aimed at beginners there will be an extra class running from 5:30 - 6:30 every Tuesday at St. Johns. This will be a beginners class, the level of some of the other classes will also be adjusted to help balance out the timetable. New Workshops for the New Year and New Resolutions! - January 10th/23rd 2010

Ready for the New Year we have created two new workshops designed to help introduce people to Pilates and its many benefits.Normally our beginners workshop caters for everyone. But with the New Year resolutions often giving lots of people the incentive to start I have decided to hold two workshops to cater for the two main groups of people who come to the classes.Both cover all the basic pilates principles and techniques.

"Pilates For Fitness" is for those of you who are new or returning to pilates and are wanting to get to grips with the basic method before you start the class-a fast track to fitness!

"Pilates for Health"will be similar to the above workshop but will take time to deal with issues such as back problems, neck and shoulder dyfunction etc so that you can adapt the method to suit your own particular needs

When we make New Years Resolutions we plan to stick with them but all know that this is often not the case! You are welcome to start classes without attending a workshop, but those who attend the workshops arrive having already "got it" and tend to stick with the classes, often becoming regulars!

3 Pilates Classes Every Monday

From next Monday I will be running a PILATES FLOW class at St Clements form 9-10pm, following the earlier classes. This is and ALL LEVELS class and is suitable for anyone who has done more than 10 hours of pilates, and has a reasonable grasp of the breathing and working in neutral spine whilst standing, sitting and lying.

It will be a relaxing, flowing, fluid class, where we connect the moves from into easy to follow sequences. Unlike traditional pilates we may use relaxation background music, and I am hoping that you will all float out of the class at the end of each session ready for a relaxing nights sleep!

All the positions will be familiar, we won't be using intermediate positions that you might find too challenging! But we will challenge you through the flowing sequences and the increased connection of mind and body. Each session will end with ten minutes minimum of relaxation and muscle release.

Please come along and give it a try.....

Fundraising Pilates classes for Helen's Memorial Window

Hi everyone,

Those of you who haven't been to class recently may not yet have seen Helen Rafferty's memorial window, but it looks amazing and although I've known it was coming for a long time it's having quite an effect on us all, especially Helen's friends and those who knew her.

So we are trying to raise as much money as possible towards the window and I have waited till now when its actually in, as I felt it would be a great motivator for you all to come along.

So the plan is to run the following classes on the 5th October 2008

1pm - 2pm - A class of 20 places.

2.15-3.15pm - A second class as above.

There is a minimum donation of £6 for a class. Payable by cheque if possible please to "St. Clements PCC"

We have access to the hall till six o'clock and Jo and I would be more than happy to teach classes right through til then if there is the demand.

So if you WANT TO BOOK A PLACE- you need to let me know and PAY IN ADVANCE!

If you don't want to come along but would like to make a donation, again cheques if possible please.

If you book a space but can't make it on the day that's fine, as long as we pre-book every mat. If we fill both classes initially on minimum donations that would be a £240 donation, but I'd hope we can raise even more. I will send you updates of how we are getting on.

Hi Everyone, A finalised update!

WEDNESDAY LUNCHTIME PILATES at St Clements has moved from 1.30 to 1pm-2pm from next week.

THURSDAY PILATES - This is the LAST WEEK of Thursday classes.

TUESDAY PILATES - starts TUES 22ND JULY at ST JOHNS SCHOOL SPORTS HALL. 6.45pm-beginners/all levels, 8pm-regulars/intermediates A map for ST JOHNS can be found here.

All classes run throughout the summer, except Jo's Friday morning class at the Yoga Rooms which is term time only.
